    History:

The Holy Nativity Lutheran Church rain garden was installed to beautify the site.     The project was initiated by a Master Gardener who was previously trained through
the Stormwater Management in Your Backyard lectures.

    Type of Runoff Managed:

This rain garden manages stormwater from the Holy Nativity Lutheran Church's
driveway and rooftop.  With an average rainfall of 44 inches a year, this rain garden
intercepts, treats, and infiltrates approximately 22,000 gallons of stormwater per             year.

    Installation:

Approximately ten Master Gardeners of Gloucester County were present for
the installation of the rain garden in July 2007, which was approved by the Holy
Nativity Lutheran Church.  The supplies for the rain garden were provided by the

Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Gloucester County and Holy Nativity Lutheran
    Church.
