Water Quality Trading Program
Passaic Trading Project Presentations
The following are presentations from the Passaic Trading Project Kickoff Meeting:
Christopher Obropta and
Department of Environmental Sciences graduate student, Josef Kardos, organized
a kickoff meeting for the Non-tidal Passaic River Basin Water Quality
Trading Project. The meeting was held January 17-18, 2006 at Cook College.
Over 20 people attended including key stakeholders from USEPA, NJDEP,
the Passaic River Basin Alliance, and faculty from Rutgers and Cornell
Universities. The meeting launched a three year project funded by a USEPA
Targeted Watershed Grant to design, implement, and evaluate a water quality
trading project to cost-effectively implement the Total Maximum Daily
Load (TMDL) for phosphorus in the non-tidal Passaic River watershed.
